Pretty Pretty Princess

Did you ever play that game? When I was little, one of my friends had it. Her name was Lucy. I loved playing it, because it was like dress up magically turned board game. What a great idea, right? Looking back, it was probably a really boring game, and her family probably hated me for wanting to play it so often.

Anyhow, for whatever reason, I was reminded of that by what I wore today.
The quantity of pictures I took and liked today is what some of us refer to fondly as a shit-ton, so hold on tight and deal with it. You know you like it.

This dress was already in pretty bad condition when I thrifted it, but I love it anyway.
Turns out my bike gears love it too. They ate it.
Before
After
So, no more pink dress. Honestly though, I knew it wouldn't last a wear when I bought it. I picked it up mostly so that I could make a pattern out of it, because it fit me perfectly and was really flattering. <3

I do LOVE the color, though.

So I think it's actually pretty obvious why this outfit makes me feel like a princess.

I cannot fully express my love for my Dad's front yard. We rent the place, but godDAMN. Every time I come home to it I'm like... DAYUMN. I LIVE here. How lucky AM I?

The adorable Faraday!
Fondly known as Faradog, Fairy Dog, and Fairy Girl, Although now there is another person in my life known as Fairy Girl, so that is deliciously awkward. :D

The makeup is Barry M. "Pinky Gold" on the lid, "Cherry Red" in the crease and on the eyebrow, and a pale green called "Clear Emerald" from a palette my mom has literally had since she was in high school. Fortunately for me, she never really used it. Gosh knows I do.
I think the lipstick is Revlon. Fucked if I know what color it is.
That's all I've got on, other than mascara, which is whatever mascara was at the top of my bag and who gives a shit anyway because it's just mascara.

I am seriously in love with my hair right now.
Srsly, guise.

Because of my outfit and makeup, when I walked into the Family Mart in Little Tokyo to meet my boyfriend and his girlfriend the Fairy Girl, he exclaimed,
"You are dressed as your hair!"

I am also in love with the smell of lavender.
Gosh, I'm in love with all SORTS of things:
hair, boyfriends, lavender, ramen (OMG DAIKOKUYA THE END), dresses, colors, front yards...

Necklace from Target, way back in the day.

Just in case you were wondering, I am actually a mermaid.

Love how the glitter shows up in this one.

I did ponytails minus the ponytail holders today.
I couldn't find any hairbands, so I made my own out of hair and bobby pins. It was really easy, and turned out to be even BETTER than hairbands because it matched and looked way more natural and princessy. Yay!

I think the shoes are Chinese Laundry.
They've actually held up pretty well even with a run through the washing machine after it rained when I wore them out in stupid Texas last year. Texas weather is seriously impaired.

The poncho is also thrifted.

You're welcome for the shit-ton of pictures.
Farewell, mes amis!

Voldemort Can't Stop The Rock

Black skinny jeans from Target
Black leather boots thrifted from OOTC
Shirt from Harry and the Potters
Flower barrette made by me

Look at all the lovely pepper plants we're growing at my Dad's!
Most of them are variations of Ghost Peppers, plus a few Native Ghosts.
We also have a bunch of Habaneros and a bunch of Marbles.

I let the boyfriend attack my hair with Pink Manic Panic. I'm liking the way the pink and former green are playing together, so I'm probably going to lighten my roots, dye them turquoise, and add some hot pink and lime green down below. The orange has come as a side effect of the pink and green being there and I LOVE the resulting gradient.

For some reason I got a lot of comments about the two different eyebrow colors. It's just eyeshadow.

So in love with my new shirt. I got this one and a Potter Puppet Pals "Bother Bother Bother" tee at the Troubadour last Monday the 23rd, when Harry and the Potters and Potter Puppet Pals were both playing. I swear I have never rocked so hard in my life, even including that time at Lady Gaga's Monster Ball at Nokia Live, and I rocked pretty hard then. I didn't take any pictures, but I think my two friends that came with me did, so if I get any I'll post them.
In addition to being awesome as all get-out, this shirt is one of the softest things in existence. It's not quite up there with ultrasuede, but it's close.

Usually foils don't last very long at all under a regular topcoat, so I've been starstruck at how long these nails have lasted. I painted these probably two weeks ago (honestly don't remember), these pictures were taken last Wednesday night, and I'm still wearing the design right now. They've started growing out, but not chipping or flaking. WOW.

I painted on a neon goldenrod yellow polish first, and then covered it with dollarnailart.com's Rainbow Tie Dye nail art foil and topcoated. Then I added some green multi-sized glitter on the tips, topcoated, added some magenta hex glitter polish all over, and topcoated again.
To be fair, the crazy number of layers of glitter polish and topcoat (I topcoated double sometimes, and added topcoat on days when it started to look a little dull) might be a serious factor in why this has lasted so long.

I'm loving the nails WITH the hair. SO MUCH.
The End.

Whuuttt

Bangles from H&M (Netherlands).

If you're wondering why these pictures look suspiciously as if they were taken in a hotel room, it's because I needed a place to dispose of the body, and California just wouldn't do.

Just kidding. Maybe.

My sister (actually not quite my stepsister, but whatever) recently graduated from boarding school in Arizona, so me and my dad and my stepmom drove out to be at her ceremonies this past Thursday and Friday. Arizona is deathly hot, and I swear that's all I remember, just about.

  • Lipstick is "Vivid Berry" by Clinique
  • Lime Crime Candy Eyeshadow Helper
  • Barry M. Dazzle Dust (loose eyeshadow) in "Pinky Gold" (lid), "Cherry Red" (crease and eyebrow), "Silver Iridescent" (browbone), and "Yellow" (inner corner)
  • Some sort of mascara
  • My favorite glitter ever that I have no clue where it came from and I will probably die when I run out of it

I love fishtail braids, ESPECIALLY with multicolored hair.
I used to love doing them in my natural hair with a rainbow extension (see I Am The Wind).

  • Earring from Primark
  • Necklace from Target
  • Thrifted boots, OOTC
  • Black skinny jeans from Target
  • Gifted blouse, label says "Apostrophe Stretch"
  • Thrifted jacket, OOTC

This jacket is one of my favorite things ever. Black with white embroidery, the embroidery is just a bunch of words listing things that are black and white: newspaper, Pierrot, marble, ink and paper, penguins, salt and pepper, bride and groom, et cetera.

And yes, as you can see in the above photo, I do have a Bette Midler face drawn on my hand. What can I say? They played "The Rose" at my sister's graduation ceremony, and my hand couldn't help but sing along.
I'm such a well-behaved responsible adult, *cough*.

Love ya!

I love how green my hair and eyes look in this one. I brightened it in Windows Live Photo Gallery (it's the only program I use for my pictures--unless there's serious editing, like changing the background or something), but didn't alter the color.

I bought these two paintings (and one other, not shown) from a friend's roommate's girlfriend, Veronika. I walked into the friend's house for the first time a few weeks ago and the walls were COVERED in paintings. "Who does all these?" I asked. I was fortunate enough to meet her the next time I was there, and she was willing to sell me a few of her paintings. There are a few more of hers I'd like to purchase, but we'll see what the future holds. :)

Boyfriend wearing his creeper expression. Also, default.

Boyfriend wearing the douchebaggiest expression known to mankind--the REAL default.

Boyfriend continuing to make faces at the camera all myspace-photo-style
while I rest my head, genuinely happy, on his shoulder.
